An acquired taste, they can command a lot of money for their type of breed.
But, that’s when they’re genuinely hairless.
A Canadian lady really loved this type of cat, so much so that she found the feline of her dreams online and paid a whopping £560 for a ‘Sphynx cat’ and arranged for delivery to her home as the breeder didn’t allow anyone to visit (uh, suspicious anyone?).
The cat of her dreams soon arrived at her home but all was not as it seemed….
It’s not a surprise for me to tell you that the new owner started to get concerned about her new pet’s behaviour and some small cuts and wounds that he had. So she took him to the vet to see if they could identify what was wrong – she was stunned to be told that the new baldy cat was likely not a hairless cat at all, and that the cuts and wounds were probably caused when the dealers removed the cat’s fur, either by shaving it or by using a hair removal cream. 😨
A week later, the cat had grown a full ginger coat.
Has this ever happened to you? It doesn’t have to be a cat, but have you ever found something that you have dreamed of owning, and bought it unseen, only to be disappointed when it finally is delivered and you realise that its’ not what you thought or what you had been promised? Let us know your stories…. We would love to hear them and the outcome if there is one.
I hope that the lady in question kept the ginger hairy cat even though it wasn’t what she had dreamed of… however I think I would have demanded a refund!!
